Accreditation and Governance

The Grampian Biorepository is accredited by Health Improvement Scotland. This accrediation provides a regulatory framework for the removal, storage and use of relevant biological material (tissue, cells and body fluids) for research into disease, or the functioning of the human body.

NHS Research Ethids Committee aprroval has been granted.

Biorepository Governance Structure

The Biorepository steering group ensure that the biorepository works within the strategic context of NHS Research Scotland and provide leadership for the development and management of the biorepository.

The Operation group is responsible for ensuring the biorepository is operated within current clinical and legal requirements and under the principles of good governance.

The Scientific Access Group is responsible for reviewing and aprroving requests for access to tissues / samples made to the biorepository.
